I've found that the problem is that Syphon makes texture from the Mesh Renderer "disappear" when OpenGL screen capture is enabled. I believe that the bug reports for that should be placed here: http://forums.v002.info/
This is fixed in the SVN, along with some performance updates to the QC Syphon plugin. Feel free to check it out and build, or wait for a official release.
