Demux + Variable length video

mattgolsen's picture

I'm attempting to integrate a video playback patch with a demultiplexer and I'm somewhat at a loss. The issue that I'm running into is how I can have this video playback patch play every 30 minutes or so, and return to the normal cycle of patches that the demultiplexer is driving.

I thought about having a LFO patch (square) drive it every 30 minutes or so (output to Start and the sprite patch), but I'm not sure if this would be the best option.

Any ideas?

Re: Demux + Variable length video

Hmmm.

One thing I do quite a bit, which may be kind of... inelegant... is that, instead of a square wave, I will use a combination of interpolation and a round patch. I say it's inelegant, but I can't find a way that uses LESS patches for certain setups, and I tend to go with whatever method is quickest and simplest.

By how much "over" .5 you set the maximum (in conjunction with the duration time), you can control how long the patch is "on".... basically, the duration of time you are outputting a 1.

I always think of that as the "lopsided interpolate" technique :)

Hi there,

sorry, I don't get it entirely :) Could you be a bit more specific? What should play when? Should the movie loader wait until the movie has played before returning to the "normal" mode?
