Getting quads to face the front always?

I'm using particle tools and some vortex forces in a composition i'm making... all the particles are just circles but they need to vary in size so i've been using quads, however now i have the problem that they rotate when they come in contact with my vortex forces... any way to force them to face the front?

Try using the Object Render Settings patch. Connect it to the Particle's Render Class input, and set the Alignment to "Billboard".

(As of ParticleTools 0.3, "Billboard" mode will only work properly if the particle system is not within a Trackball or 3D Transformation or other camera-modifying patch.)

I was about to reply and suggest the same thing, but when I was double testing, I had everything in a trackball. I was testing with the first version of the fire composition, so it didn't work right :)

many thanks again! i was also inside a 3D Transformation (that i wasn't really using) works now (:
