no.

However, you can possibly extract the movie image somehow, and map it onto a sphere, like in this demo:

Chris YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND. Culling the front of a sphere! So simple and elegant. This is just disturbing!

But where is the clear? :o) It looks funny in Safari :oP

Cool.

Amazing how well that actually works. Presumably the shader is slightly different from the Apple Envmap one, since that's based on a fish-eye/hemispherical environment map.

same shader

I used the sample envmap shader (which is why the reflections aren't quite right, though close enough to be convincing at first glance)

I also made a modified one once that took a texture input instead of a solid color, and had some more parameters to control variable reflection (additive vs mixed, etc)... All in all, very fun. Didn't save it though :/ probably easy to whip up again.

I do note that you have to

I do note that you have to "flip" the picture on the sphere as well, to give make things "read" correctly.... noticed this when plugging in a city scene of NY.

It works best with things that don't have tremendous detail, or that are a lot of the same thing (ie., a forest, a mountain range, etc.) so that you don't pick up on the reflection aspect.

Really cool, and I actually think this is way better than the "mov." setup that Apple has been using for this, at least in my opinion.
