Binding question related to QCPatchController

I am using the QCPatchController (or rather trying to) from IntfcBldr. It appears to allow you to Load a QComposition and read the published input ports. I was then expecting these to show up as attributes that i can bind (not using IBOutlet) to when i select say a check box within my interface and try and bind it to the QCPatchController. I do not see this happening. Is there a problem with this feature within IB? Or do i simply need to type them in as I know them in the form of 'myinputBoolean.value'.

you do need to note all of them down, at least I didn't find another way to do it
