AXIS network camera / video

Hi, I've been successfully using the KnM AXIS camera patch, on a PTZ 212 model. While I won't comment on the 212'video quality, I must say that the patch is AWESOME, as using network video doesn't eat up your FPS as do firewire cams. It's basically video frames for free.

It the patch reported to work with non-camera units, like network video converters such as the AXIS M7001 or the 247S ? That would be great, however there's not much info on their website wether encoders are bonjour compliant, or not.

Any info would be truly welcome, as I envision to use network video in an upcoming installation.

Thxx

Re: AXIS network camera / video

So far the only definite information we have is that it works with the 212 (which cwright used to develop the patch), and that users have reported it working with the 211M as well.

I expect that any camera that complies with their VAPIX Version 2 API --- http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/dev/cam_http_api_2.php --- should work with the existing patch. (And it probably wouldn't be too difficult to modify it to work with VAPIX Version 3 also.)

Both the 247S and M7001 indicate that VAPIX is supported, but it's not clear which version.
