Kineme crash reporter want to report all the crashes done with : finder, differents softwares, etc...
I don't want to spam kineme with all my crashes ;)
how to improve the crash reporter?
How to disable it ?
My suggestion was that "when in doubt, send crash data to kineme.net and let us filter it server-side", but, for the record, I'm cool with either option.
IMO, since it is theoretically possible that a plugin could work ok in the QC App, but perhaps screw other apps up... I'm of the mind that I don't care about sending them all in. You never know! I'm sure that it IS superfluous to send in some of the crashes.
I have a very natural aversion to "big brother" things, but I feel as though Kineme is a great company and are one of the few that I wouldn't have any reservations about this with. In fact, I can say that it has probably ALREADY been of benefit. It also saves me having to zip up a crash report and send it...
....because when you are the type that may trigger 10 crashes in 10 minutes (sounds like overstatement, but I probably have gotten pretty darn close to that), it gets tiring to send them manually.
if you hit esc, it will skip all existing crashes. Otherwise, there isn't really any simple way to ignore only certain apps.
(I also wanted to omit Finder, quicklookd, Safari, and maybe a couple others, but smokris figured having more information is more helpful... shrugs)
Ok chris thx for the esc ! So we have to send all the reports to smorkis mail directly ?....;)
No, you can send them to me though if you'd like -- I do a bunch of the initial crash log sorting/inspection. :)
But maybe if he starts receiving them, he'll change his mind about omitting them in KinemeCore ;)
