32-bit vs 64-bit mode

I am interested in the differences between running 32-bit vs 64-bit modes using Quartz Composer. Outside of Quartz I have read up on what this really means, how you couldn't access more than 4gb of ram on some machines using this architecture (I have also heard that the mac circumvented some of these 32-bit limitations, notably the RAM issue), the larger address space, etc.

I am curious though if running everything in 64-bit mode will result in faster performance or is that just the jump-to assumption? I am dealing with lots of video processing, networking, cameras, mics, and so I am thinking these would benefit from the larger architecture but I wanted to hear if anyone has solid reasoning or experience why or why not.

Can anyone attest to the performance of 32-bit vs 64-bit inside of Quartz?

Thanks for any tips or advice

A revisit to a previous QC comp, this time with spruced up with blend modes - timing delivered via MIDI from Ableton Live.
