Symphonic Bounce

This clip made use of Movie Loader and used the audio to control how it scrubs through the movie frames.

Sorry about the content - but it is a small reminder of the continuing repression by government forces around the world (in this case in Germany and the UK) not only in Arab states undergoing the Arab Spring revolts.

Nice work. Can you say something about the way the audio was translated into frame sequence? Is this frequency analysis, volume based, or some other mapping from the waveform?

Re: Symphonic Bounce

Thanks for the comment!

I use Kyma for audio analysis - it has some tools, amongst others, for tracking amplitude or frequency and can convert this into a midi control message stream which I feed into QC. In this case it is Amplitude based - the midi control messages are mapped onto the Frame position together with some jitter and an LFO to scrub back and forth with another midi control message stream controlling the rate of playback.

See attached example. (Note though, to change to path in the Movie Importer - Was using a RamDisk to try and improve performance).
