Clear patches not showing in Quartz Builder app

usefuldesign.au's picture

I've placed clear patches with 100% alpha at every macro level of my composition but it's transparent on desktop except for sprites' spheres and other renderer objects.

Are clear patches always render clear in QB apps?

Are you using the QB qtz template? If not, you should.

For alpha to show as clear is correct. In QC, alpha doesn't fully get respected. By keeping Alpha as alpha, transparency effects can be achieved, when they otherwise could not be.

Change your clears to actual black (0.,0.,0.,1.). Basically, make sure your alpha channel is 1. Also, change your settings to make the QB template to Opaque=True.

When I said 100% alpha I meant alpha = 1.0, sorry for semantic confusion!

I know what alpha is and why we have it ;-)

I'm not using the template. That's got to be it. I only just started using QB app and forgot it comes with a template. Thanks, the template looks really interesting!

I confess I am not. Thank-you, good catch.

I am trying to build a patch into an app with an alpha channel, but all I keep getting is the display becoming glitchy and the fames are catching in some sort of wave effect.
