Hi, how to i animate stuff in quartz ?

say one rectangle comes into the screen from ouside, stops for a second , and then it moves out.

But, i want this animation to be in a sweepy way, so like accelerating, in a non linear way.

it sounds as though you are looking to animate with a non-linear interpolation. the Timeline patch lets you define your own curves and the sample composition looks like this:

timeline patch would do fine. this one uses interpolation.
