Is it possible to make a MIDI file player to embed in QC.
I know that QT can play back MIDI. Is there anything like this I can make from the Kineme MIDI or audio tools?
Or is this a feature request?

As of now I don't think so. Quick time uses the d.l.s synth to play back midi files. I have yet to add midi file support to my d.l.s synth plugin. Its a good idea. Will see if I can put that on my boiler plate of things to do.
Wow keep me updated on your progress. Embedding a midi file would be amazing. For each track I produce in the studio I could make some extra silent MIDI tracks for triggering stuff in QC. Then render out a load of different video passes with different patches and edit them together swapping or blending layers to fit with the music.
I'd love to see this. For one, it would potentially allow accurate tempo for rendering out using QuartzCrystal.
In the meantime, anyone have any workflow for syncing midi playing from an external source (for ex., Ableton Live) while rendering in QuartzCrystal? It will render, but I can't make sense of how it is buffering (or whatever) in QuartzCrystal, so it yields unpredictable results and seems to relate to the complexity of the patch, i.e., more complex = slower render = midi plays fast on playback.
i use the value historian to record what ever midi or audio frequencies i want to render with in crystal. then set them for playback when you render in crystal
Thanks, dust. I'll have a look. I was having serious trouble with the value historian last time I tried it, using it in a comp that worked well prior to snow leopard (though if my problem was related i could not say). I know there was an update, but it didn't fix my problems.

I looked into midi > xml (http://en.nemidi.com/conversor/mid2xml.html) awhile back, it works its just abit sticky drilling into the xml feed.
