Re: Kinect for dummies

Muqeem, if you haven't done so already, then download the various example compositions that have been generously posted upon the site here.

Run them, study them, duplicate and take them apart, put them back together again, try making compositions of your own.

Do whatever you want and can do with the patches available.

Still - that's what I would do if I were to be starting along the road of creating Kinect enhanced Quartz Composer compositions.

Muqeem: I've been very happy with tryplex for setting up controls of environments-- and have been beyond grateful for the help of this community. What I have found is using the kinect to create two very distinct interactive setups: (1). using tryplex OSCeleton to move things around (2). use kinect.qtz and isolate a depth that creates a basic silhouette mask you can plug into VJ environments. They can't be used at the same time as far as I can tell. If it's encouraging I didn't know QC at all two months ago, and while I am still a super beginner, I am begining to understand the basics with lots of help from the people here.

Thanks a lot, I am in the process of downloading all the patches and so forth from the apple development site and cannot wait to play with QC and Kinect together.

Thanks a lot for all of your kind help. It is been a amazing learning experience working with QC as an artist.

Re: Kinect for dummies

Honestly, there are tears in my eyes, ecstasy level is up and who know what!

First time, I am seeing myself controlling the skeleton. Thank you so much, i do not have words to say how much I love you all. I know with QC and this control, there are so many things can be done for me as an artist. I feel like I am complete, at lease found a fountain and need some struggle to drink this delicious water..... Or may be I found an oasis in the middle of Sahara and the only thing left is to fetch the water form the well. I do not know what I am saying but there is so much happiness for me to see my embodiment first time....oof, thank you  Kineme, QC and tryplex

thank you
