ok so something to recicle

ok so i got this old old world powerbook wallstreet g3 laying around... and i was thinking of using it to generate some wicked really wicked cool graphix, like say a letter in motion from one side to another of the screen... but the thing is it won't anything other than mac os9 or tiger wich is everything but a tiger. so i was thinking and thinking got me here to ask: what should i do with it? any suggestions?

My take: Turn it into art rather than have it generate art.

It's going to be so painfully slow, I wouldn't even bother. However, I'm sure the svelte case would double as a great art project.

I've got three of them laying around as well. Go back to back and use macromedia director, made some nice installations/animations on those machines with that 11 years ago. Flash 3 will work fine...and there is off course hypercard for nostalgic reasons!

thats amazing you have the power supply for them still ? i think its a good idea to save those things. for instance if you have a zip 250mb drive its worth the same price if not more on the used market. i'm sure there are collectors as well that might want one.

i had a black g3 laptop man that thing was awesome, it would heat up a bit but was the first laptop i ever had i could produce 3d graphics with it even video edit although a 9500 hundred avid system was totally faster render didn't make since to me at the time but if you can find the software you could totally make art out of it. heck you could maybe sell the power cord for more than the lap top is worth to someone that has one of those machines and needs data from it.

i would totally shockwave it out with some after effects frames.

I have an Atari 520 ST with 512Kb of ram, if you're interested. It can render a cube at 3 FPS.

oh well it actually did the power cord cost more than the computer.... it seems to forget the hardrive wich is relly bad... but the powercord is working.... as soon as the powerbook's alzeimer goes away i'll hit with a shockwave and a small granular synthesis soft to process image for blind people.... and make some really loud noise.... must post videos later. :)
