Greetings from Denmark

Hi Guys,

I’m doing sound and video for theatre. For that purpose I’m using Qlab as my showcontrol program. This can both do sound, video, midi and applescripting. The video is rendered via Quartz Composer. I’m somewhat new in QC and I’m just starting to get the basics done. I think that the forum looks very promising and I hope to both contribute and get good and qualified help.

Best, Rasmus

Welcome to the Kineme forum.

Video rendering via Quartz Crystal is far better than merely screen grabbing from QC or exporting as a movie from QC.

Hello, nice to meet you!

How do you like Qlab? I know a designer who enquired about it for a client awhile ago, and I took a look; it seemed nice. How does the Applescripting support work? I'm looking at it now and I don't really see anything for that (but of course, I'm not looking at any manual/help me).

I had a quick look at QLab, and it does look very interesting, although I've not got all the goodies, just running demo style. However, I might be just going about things the wrong way, but QC wise, it doesn't seem to do much for me at all.

I can get QLab to run movies and audio, no problem, but QC video cube or whatever, no dice.

You can inside the video cue's inspector go to the tab called composer and put in another than the standard quartz file.

If you publish the ports described in the bottom of this page you'll be able to control some features via the animation cue. Otherwise you can control this via midi and the IAC bus.
