QuartzCrystal and Time Scale field resolution

hello, I want to render my patch at timescale = 0.375 , but I can enter only one number after decimal point. Is that constraint intended? If so - how is it motivated?

Re: QuartzCrystal and Time Scale field resolution

Edit the Quartz Crystal Preferences .plist, you can set timescale to double digit decimals, like 0.35, for example.

Just search for net.kineme.QuartzCrystal.plist in your User folder's Preference's folder.

Property List Editor is your friend :-).

Thanks, this works. But it's rather ugly hack – I need to restart an app every time I want some timescale not provided by devs. Where can I send some FR?

best, ak

Email info@kineme.net

I may be wrong, but I don't think this is a big addition. You should try emailing a request, and if time frame for the fix is a concern, make this known.

Keep in mind that the idea of timescale, compositions starting at a time other than 0, and many other features of Quartz Crystal have been introduced over time, and weren't in the O.G release. In that light, it's users like you who help make the app better by pointing out what makes your life easier. Without that, it may not occur to one that this is even something needed, especially given the fact that the whole concept of rendering from time X is somewhat new and novel to begin with.

All that said, given that you already have 100 steps of resolution available for your start point in a given second, I'm actually surprised that you need an extra decimal place, especially considering it's a bit rare for comps to run in excess of that frame rate. edit- whoops, you're talking about playback rate.

I posted FR on this forum recently.

yes, 10ms resolution for starting time is definitely enough for me :-) The issue releates to GUI; I believe CLI does not introduce such restrictions.
