K3D 1.2 crashing on obj loading .. ?

The instant I try to load an OBJ, I get a crash. Any OBJ I have will crash it, ones I know work in other 3D apps.

I am running GL Tools 1.4, Kineme Core 0.5.1, and K3D 1.2.

If I open the KCore plugin manager I get a window that says "The following plugin configuration problems have been found" but lists nothing in the table view.

Same behaviour in 32 or 64 bit.

Can you email me the obj (and the backtrace)? If the backtrace ends with numbers in hex (i.e. 0x1b926058), it's our bug, if it ends with KFbx:: namespaced stuff, it's autodesk's fault (There are a couple known bugs that crash outside of FBX, but the overwhelming majority of issues are in Autodesk's abomination).

The plugin manager not showing any errors means there aren't any :) I didn't have it change the text "The following problems", as that required another IBOutlet and another ivar (and man, I hate ivars) -- it'll likely get addressed in a future update to be more clear (or insert a "No Problems Found" item or something)

Also, try simplify in both modes, and see if you are double smoothing (I think this caused problems in one version of K3D, in certain scenarios).

I've had problems with obj files here and there... I think Chris was mentioning a weird bug that I found a bit ago with certain files on another thread.

I'm zipping an obj file I modeled that does work on my system; it might be fruitful to see if this one crashes for you, since it's been working across the past few versions of all of the mentioned plugins.

Hey Sorry I have not followed up on this. I have had some shows and needed to prep and wanted to use this, but had to drop it and move on due to time constraints. Ill re-visit this once my schedule calms down. Thanks!
