jaggies

Hi everyone,

I'm developing a game that uses png's with alpha as sprites. All is well, accept I get these jagged edges as you can see in the enclosed jpg. I did some tests with higher-res sources but with no effect. I couldn't really find a solution on kineme (or maybe I just missed it). is there some kind of workaround, or better solution?

I've included the composition as well.

Thanks!

Re: jaggies

I've now tripled the size of the source png's, and that actually helped quite a bit, although still not perfect. If anyone has a better way of solving this, I hope to hear from you!

Re: jaggies [solved]

Just got it figured out myself, maybe it will be of some help for people. Applying an appropriate layer order (and z-depth layering) solved it for me (at least for the frontal view, if you rotate the composition it'll still occur.

Enclosed the working sample composition.

Re: jaggies [solved]

Please keep us posted about the progress of this game, I'm very interested in it.

Re: jaggies

Try taking a look at the GL Tools Depth Sort Environment/Depth Sort Sprite combo (there is an example composition, I think), and see if that doesn't work for you from both angles.

Re: jaggies

Just tried it, and that solves all problems! Good one, thanks!

Enclosed the working comp. In two weeks it'll be finished, i'll put a post up on kineme!
