@nisar: In your composition, the image being rendered on screen was in a different place than the virtual image the Hit Test was comparing to. I've attached a revised composition, wherein the transformation that moves the Pakistan map onscreen happens before the vector is passed to the Hit Test, instead of after it. It now works for me.
