how to get an obj file into QC?

2 part question....

could someone talk me through putting the 3d file loader in a script to bring in a simple OBJ file of a block man .aside from loading a file path into the file text field i dont really know what to do , do i feed this out into a structure? theres no real clear docs on it and the example comps arent very helpful to a new user with no programing knowledge!

what im aiming towards eventually is exporting each part of the block man as seperate objs so i can assign the various parts to joints on the synapse plugin / qcosc and make the block man dance when i dance. will this even work?

thanks in advance

You don't mean a .obj Wavefront format file do you? You mean an AutoCAD OBJ component don't you?

I think I've completely misunderstood you earlier.

Misread your post .aside portion when I think you meant ,aside

If you are simply talking about outputting a .obj file in a structured fashion, just output as objects. Then run through the index for each member within the .obj file. If your file contains only one object, then it will obviously enough not have any level of structure deeper than 1.

If you do have a multi member object file then you can output each member to a set of 3D Object Renderers or to a 3D Object Structure Renderer patch, you can also output to a 3D Object Blend Renderer patch too.
