Revision of QuartzCrystal 1.3 from Thu, 2009-02-12 08:43The revisions let you track differences between multiple versions of a post. $18.00 Price: $18.00 QuartzCrystal is an application for rendering Quartz Compositions to QuickTime Movies and Image Sequences. It supports 3rd Party plugins --- both Official and Unofficial API --- as well as unsafe patches. It also supports up to 64x Spatial Supersampling (Antialiasing) and up to 1024x Temporal Supersampling (Motion Blur) per frame. Download the 7-day trial below, or buy a license now.
QuartzCrystal 1.3QuartzCrystal 1.3 sports a completely rewritten rendering engine, designed around Mac OS X 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 CoreImage changes. This makes rendering more reliable (especially with motion blur and antialiasing). It also contains a command-line powered renderer, suitable for scripting and use without a GUI, and allows the GUI to keep running in the event of a render failure. Some UI bugs were also fixed. Unregistered rendering should work again as well. Additionally, the render context is cleared between each frame, allowing compositions without a Clear Patch to render properly. Documentationhttp://kineme.net/wiki/QuartzCrystal DownloadAttached below is the free trial version of QuartzCrystal, which is full-featured, but defaces the rendered output movies. Purchasing a license removes this limitation. QuartzCrystal is for Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) only. Footnote [1]: QuartzCrystal performs Spatial Supersampling. This is not the same thing as OpenGL's "Full-Scene Anti-Aliasing" (FSAA) --- it's better. When you enable Spatial Supersampling, QuartzCrystal renders your composition at the specified multiple of your target size, and then applies a high-quality scaling filter to reduce the rendered image to the intended size. All parts of your composition get the same supersampling treatment --- not just lines and poly edges (or whatever your video card supports) as is the case with OpenGL FSAA. Footnote [2]: QuartzCrystal performs Temporal Supersampling. When you enable this feature, QuartzCrystal renders your composition at the specified number of time-slices for each frame, and blends these slices together --- resulting in smooth motion.
