Volume rendering = timespace

Hi! I found this project interesting, they have converted the idea of volume rendering to a timespace effect. Toneburst, I am sure you will find it curious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUDvGJ5ZnY4&feature=player_embedded#

Beautiful, I love the fact that it shares homonymically a name with the Open CL format - pure coincidence of course, but gave me a little chuckle. Love all that playing around with video. Tasty. Mmmm, Open CL, even sans the specific hardware shown in the link or on a current touch screen - possible I would have thought

That's great. I remember seeing that, and totally forgot about it. We can do so much of this in QC (all?) that it's really cool to be reminded of this. Thanks very much for posting. I love seeing stuff like this.

(It reminds me that I have to ask why my time blur isn't working in SL...)

Very nice. I've seen part of this clip before, I think (the city skyline bit). It's verry impressive. You could do some similar things with a big Queue, a load of billboards and some complex blending logic.

If you connected something like this to a moving Queue you could probably get some cool (though much simpler) volumetric effects, too.

Funnily enough, I've been working on a slightly different implementation of the medical data renderer, which doesn't use a Queue. Some examples from my blog:

PS Can anyone remind me how to add images to a forum post here?
