Writing an environment for QC

morgan's picture

I'm looking at creating an environment patch for quartz composer with multiple openGL viewports into the contents of the environment. Similar to a 3d transformation patch, but with multiple viewports. I'm pretty new to writing custom patches and plugins for QC and I'm not a openGL whiz, but I think this should be pretty straightforward with some guidance. Any help would be appreciated.

cheers,

Morgan

There's already a Kineme GL Viewport. You shouldn't need to write any patch.

Thanks for that. I was looking for it, but I cannot see it. What package is it part of? And does it support multiple viewports?

cheers,

Re: Writing an environment for QC

Look for GLTools -- it's freely available under Quartz Composer Patches on the left-hand side of this site.

multiple viewports can be performed, but it doesn't happen automatically. There's a sample composition that demonstrates how it's done. If you feel that native multi-viewport functionality should be included in a future version, please file a feature request.
