KinemeCore Preferences… Menu Item Shortcut

I tried assigning Cmd+Opt+"," to the K Menu>KinemeCore Preferences… no joy. I even tried Cmd+"K"!

Looks like the K menu is a colourful non-conformer to Apple UI Guidelines ;)

I'm often switching the "Viewer to float" on and off depending on other apps, situation etc, shortcut compliance would be nice next time KinemeCore gets an update

I think the menu title is "kineme.net" (but then presented as an image) -- I'm not sure if you're able to use strings like that to select which menu you're interested in using though.

Otherwise, a shortcut for just the preferences should be trivial to add -- the expectation was that most users (90%) would only ever open that menu a few times.

Just for the record, you only need the menu item text (not the Menu name) to set a shortcut. Build it and they (90%) will use ;)

On 10.5, this works for me without any problems:

(By the way, the string is "KinemeCore Preferences..." -- not an ellipsis, but 3 actual periods)

Re: KinemeCore Preferences… Menu Item Shortcut

Ooops. Turns out I have two versions of Quartz Composer on my system (one called Quartz Composer copy) and the shortcut got assigned to that version (which only seemed to have been running because I opened a mail download with QC already running and it asked QC copy to strart for whatever reason)

Anyway, it works with an ellipse. Apple must have thought about that potential confusion. (I only just read the second bit of your message).

It's funny you mention the float Viewer thing... I find myself shifting back and forth on that one quite a bit too. Probably the only setting I ever really change!

While I'm at it, I want to really compliment cwright on the linear noodle implementation, in performance as well as look. It's proven itself to be highly favorable, and I love that there isn't that little drop shadow being drawn as well. The last kinemecore was sort of a tour de force!

Yes Tour de F.

Linear noodles are good from performance pov but still get used to the look.
