Support Garbage Collection

Hi Kineme Team,

Please see forum entry: http://kineme.net/forum/DevelopingCompositions/CVToolspluginwontloadinsc...

It would be great if you could compile the CVTools and other QC plugins with support for garbage collection.

This will enable the use in 64bit Mac environments, which require GC (example screen savers).

Thank you. -Peter

This is a composition that fleshes out a macro, and concept that I use quite a bit.

This shows how to use image texturing properties to create an environment, and then how to manipulate the translation of of the texture so that it seems as though the entire environment moves.

This technique is useful because it allows a scene to "move" without altering actual X/Y/Z coordinates of "camera" (eg., placing things in a 3D transform, and moving).

This composition also illustrates the simple use of a gradient renderer as a lighting effect.

This is a simple particle tools scene that makes something that looks like a rain fall. I've used it when wanting a scene to look like there is some rain going on somewhere; it doesn't seem especially taxing on my laptop.

Edit: If running with Snow Leopard, QC should be run in 32 bit mode. Do this by finding your Quartz Composer app in the Developer folder, performing a "get info", and checking off 32 bit mode.
