so im not sure if the video glitch effect is still cool or not but nor do i care because i think the glitch is cool. so this is a video take from my i sight of my x wife singing in just vocals to melody she wrote. i took the melody and glitched it up and turned it into heavy bassline for an electro glitch track i made. so i wanted a video that reflects the vocal and bassline glitches.

to use this file just add you movie file. i added a separate solo drum track and this is key to getting an effect like this as the glitcheeenes is running off the peak amplitude from the audio spectrum.

don't know if this will help anyone but find it a great way to mess up a static shot from the isight.

LOL - really works well :-), some nice custom patching.

& a few why not try these unconnected items supersampling and a v002 glitch patch.

Re: reactive feedback glitch (Composition by dust)

i had envisioned really glitching things up with some v002 stuff but just the screen shake resize thing with bad tv and feedback was really messing things up to begin with.

glad you got it working cybero as normally i don't like to upload things without all the parts but can't upload a 200mb movie file and audio.

Just discovered, by chance, that without a functioning movie file, the audio doesn't load :-)

BTW, what do you make of the fact that the Glitch patches render, even though they keep the GF Log very busy?

Re: reactive feedback glitch (Composition by dust)

thats strange i split the audio from the movie and used kineme audio tools to play the audio track back. and then used just the drum track to trigger spectrum reactive stuff so there should be one movie player one audio player and one audio spectrum from file patch.

go to...

http://research-ants.servebeer.com/

and download g.zip

that has all the media in the correct format to run from a folder. it will show you why the audio is separated and why there is no audio except the voice in the movie file which i forgot to strip out. which does mess up the auto tune etc... and you don't hear all the glitch effects i did on the voice as well.

but i have no idea why the audio wouldn't load unless a movie is loaded.

to run out i did in that screen grab just plop a video file in and then put an audio file in the player and in spectrum from file patch...

by the way i like your glitched out dub piece on vimeo cybero. i wanted to go way glitched out like that but then decided that i needed spots of clarity.

warning

ok if you download the media for this file be warned that the bass line in this file killed my subwoofer and i no longer have a 1000 watt surround sound system anymore.

i guess thats the price i pay for making a song with my x-wife when really i should stay away from her.

& then again, I'm unable to reproduce the problem, mmm , odd. I think it was probably some sort of cache related kludge issue.

Re: reactive feedback glitch (Composition by dust)

what that is saying is that you do not have an audio file in the patch as its returning null.

download g.zip from....

http://research-ants.servebeer.com/

and open geisha from or open geisha from that folder and you shouldn't have issues.

if you want to use your own media make sure to add an audio file to the kineme player and more than likely add the same audio file to audio file input patch then add a movie and you should be good.

try and download my media as there is a geisha qtz in there with file paths to the media in the folder.

then let me know if your getting the errors on launch or on view.

Re: reactive feedback glitch (Composition by dust)

really like that! certainly cool! the glitching goes v. well with the electro.

btw, is the bloke in the background your x-wife's new partner? ;-)

Re: reactive feedback glitch (Composition by dust)

haha no thats me standing in the background drinking a beer waiting for her to stop singing.

we developed an interesting work flow where she plays in just a melody and i loop that to a house beat and she sings her song in then i can arrange. the cool part is that we are not married anymore so i was able to turn that song into an electro tune where as normally i would get yelled at for making bass like that.

as far as i know my x-wife doesn't have a partner. she has converted to islam so she no longer looks like this in the video.
