record and visualize voice

Hi dear users, Do you konw how record voice (from audio input, internal mic.), and visulize as output (for ex. on billboard or sprite) the incoming words/phrases? I've try the speech s. (I've 2 patche's version, the pink and the green) and the speech recogn. but seems not works so fine. The patch recogn. crashes :-( I work on leopard. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. Best regards, Chiara

Re: record and visualize voice

Plug the apple built-in Audio Input patch to any parameter and it will move with your voice. To record the mic however, you'll have to use another app such as Ableton live and pipe the sound back to QC using SoundFlowerbed for instance. To "visualize" the sounds you'll have to use KnM Audio Input, it has a waveform output pin. (oscilloscope-like)

Re: record and visualize voice

Hi Franz, Thanks for your reply. I've already used the int. mic. as source to modify ambients, lines, etc. but never used to visualize voice. The KnM Audio Input has a waveform output and it doesn't visualize what I'm talking at the mic. Using the speach recon. (I've a new version now that works with vocal input of my mac) I can type all the words and with the speech S. I can heard, but I MUST write all the words as a list, not just pronunce and visualize. How can I solve?

Thanks, Chiara

Re: record and visualize voice

I would use a speech recognition software (like dragon) to recognize and write the words, like into a document, or webpage as rss feeder, or directly if possible, and quartz just to visualize that strings. Good luck and please post your solution

Re: record and visualize voice

Sorry for delay... but I was busy with other work. I haven't found any good solution regards to record and visualize voice in QC. There is a chance: VOCE, it's a library that runs under PROCESSING.
