Our current focus

In 2012, we started building a new visual programming environment
that doesn’t rely on Apple's Quartz Composer (which Apple no longer supports).
We’ve created Vuo, and people are using it to create amazing shows and installations.
You can download the free Community Edition.

Unsupported — We cannot guarantee that this software will work properly on Mac OS 10.8 and above.

If you'd still like to purchase a license to an unsupported Kineme product,
please use PayPal to send the appropriate amount to,
we'll respond with your license key(s) within 24 hours.

Kineme Subscriptions: Poll Results

The first place winner was "Site Advertisements" — so we're now seeking advertising partners. Please contact Beth if you're interested in placing an ad on

Second, we've set up PayPal Donations. There's a new menu item the left: Donation. Be Sure to Donate Early and Often.

Release: Texture, v0.5

Release Type: Production
Version: 0.5
Release Notes

This is an update to the Texture Plugin for Leopard. Procedural texture generation courtesy of the libnoise project.

Texture Patch This version is functionally identical to the 0.4 release, except that it runs on Leopard only.

Official-API Subpatch Support

This Official-API plugin unlocks Subpatch support for Official-API Quartz Composer Plugins. To use this in your Official-API plugins, simply add a +(BOOL)allowsSubpatches method that returns YES to allow subpatches in your patch.

Custom Plugin path on Leopard

There's been a lot of confusion about where our plugins go on Leopard. With the release of 10.5, Apple made a public API available for custom plugins, referred to as "Official-API Plug-Ins." These can go in one of two places: /Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Plug-Ins/ for system-wide installation, and ~/Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Plug-Ins/ for user-only installation.

Most of our Plug-Ins don't use the official API though.

Release: Original Kineme Plugin, v0.2
