Loading Plugins/Patches - would this be possible?

One of the subtle shifts (I think?) between Leopard and Snow Leopard, is that there seems to be way more emphasis on plugin/patch/virtual patch loading from the User directory. There are a decent amount of virtual patches in the User directory that provide basic functionality.

While I think that kinemecore has been really handy for managing plugin installs, it doesn't really handle virtual patches, and it can't really disable all non-stock plugins at a flick of a switch. Even if it could, all of the plugins/virtual patches are still commingled with the stock ones.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to add into kinemecore the ability to load - plugins/patches/virtual patches/maybe image units as well, from an arbitrary folder that we could type in the location to, or maybe one with a set name.

I know that the composition repository stuff from kinemecore loads into a different folder, and then all of those qtz's are loaded into QC, so it seems like this may be possible.

The reason for this, is that one could have all non-standard/3rd party/our own quirky virtual patches set aside in a separate folder from everything that is stock. This seems really desirable, because it would make it extremely easy to just remove that folder if one wants to test with a stock install.

Right now, I have a separate partition setup for testing stock. Maybe this kind of thing would be helpful for others as well?
