Kineme Midi and IAC quextion Hello gang! Do Kineme Midi tools flow thru IAC? It seems that Ableton can talk to QC thru IAC, but not the other way around. Have used Kineme midi tools w/outboard midi interface many times, but first time trying to send thru IAC. Midi Monitor confirms no QC midi out when all you have are the IAC busses. any ideas? Or am I doing something goofus? thanks!! jd

QC->Live or Live->QC, it works both ways.
Hey Gang! Still getting no QC out to IAC busses. even tried the Kineme Midi test out project comp
MidiMonitor does not show any output from QC. nobody receiving nothing.
QC still can receive from anything (Live/Logic/etc.) that sends to IAC, (BTW all IN-coming IAC data shows up in MidiMonitor)
Can do a work around w/Midipipe, but am trying to get the super-extra-simple-solution, because project is for a non-techy client, and I would love to set it up to work once. (and not have 50 unpaid callbacks)
10.6.8 - have current Kineme core/midi tools/etc. even reinstalled all Kineme stuff just to make sure
any ideas?

A few things to check:
1) Make sure the IAC driver is online

2) Make sure you have the IAC device selected as a midi in in live and that its set to receive remote commands

Hey! literally just figured this out a few minutes ago... I think I have something screwy somewhere, (seems to only apply to me) but is working dandy now. Here are the particulars. IMac 10.6.8 Kineme Core 0.5.2 QC 4.0 Latest MidiTools.
Have been feeding QC with Midi fine for a year+ Had not (attempted)fed OUT from QC for quite some time... When I did - No IAC midi out. Or to Midi interface. Tried all the usuals (IAC online / Live as setup to read IAC/ etc. etc.) Still Live nor Midi Monitor ever showed anything coming from QC. Live could send to IAC fine and be read by QC.
FINNALY! Rolled back thru ALL the old midi tools versions til I got to .1 & bingo! IAC midiout working dandy. Have swapped versions multiple times to confirm it is somehow the (my) problem.
Not sure why I am only one with this issue, but maybe this will help the Kineme gods with a nugget of info...
BTW I love the air punch videos in your kitchen, was inspirational - am working on my extension of that concept.

Also, while at it, the String-based Input filters field on the Midi tools.... What do they do/how do you use it?
