Hej!

I'm a motiongrapher in Dresden/GER and i like the way to create nodebased (typo-) animations in Quartz Composer.

Today i googled for a better way than mine to work with qtz.mov's in FCP. My typo-animations use a alpha-channel over video. (Not to composite the layer in FCP.) My workflow is:

1.) export qtz to mov (QC) 2.) import mov to Motion, set the project alpha to true, save the (unrendered) qtz.mov.motn 3.) import the qtz.mov.motn in the fcp-timeline:

Is there a smarter solution?

regards, ol.

short answer, not really, which is a shame

file a feature request with apple, requesting the exact support for qc comps in the proapps that you want.

you can turn a qc comp into an fxplug through noise industries' fxfactory, which could open things up a bit for you, but its even more fiddling.
