This is a composition that takes an image and warps it using GLSL, a Sphere renderer, and Kineme3D HeightField. It also incorporates Kineme GL Tools Polygon Mode.

Here's an attempt at mapping a planar texture onto a sphere, so that when you look at the sphere from the correct angle, it looks like a flat plane.

As you can see, it's not quite correct. Haven't had a chance to figure out the correct maths yet.

This is a twisted twist on the BuildingLoop composition I last uploaded.

This uses Kineme3D (the most recent beta) and Texture Tools... it should work on Leopard or Snow (save for if one was to enable the new shadow effect in the Lighting, which doesn't work with iterated objects... bug filed with Apple on that already).

It takes the city scene, and uses the Kineme3D to generate a Height Field that can then be warped.

This is an idea I've been having a bit of fun with lately, which is a setup that uses cubes and iterators to imitate a kind of simplistic city scene. I also ended up using Kineme texture tools and a sphere in add mode in combo with a clear to generate a sky and clouds... which is something I love to use! Other than that, the original thought was to do something totally "stock", but I liked the Kineme Texture more than the picture I was using.
