Polygone Mode in Kineme3D 1.8 not working

slof's picture

Hi,

Polygone Mode in Kineme3D 1.8 is not working anymore. If i downgrade to 1.7 it works as it should. Since 1.8 i can't wireframe or polygon point 3D models anymore.

sorry, downgrade to 1.6 and Polygone Mode wireframe is working again not 1.7.

As of Kineme3D 1.7 the 3D Object Renderer and 3D Object Structure Renderer have polygon mode parameters which override Kineme GL Polygon Mode settings.

This is a good thing to have added to k3D.

This is an optimization that I'd added to a custom plugin that loads k3D framework to make a few extra patches and suggested be added to k3D proper after finding it to be a winner.

For whatever reason, in QC, calling polygon mode in a Consumer Macro Environment results in a slower framerate than calling the polygon mode on the actual consumer patch that the polygon mode is desired.

edit- also, it's kinda funny that the title of this thread "polygone..." when the polygon mode is missing :)

Shame that we don't have the line thickness parameter open on this new renderer though.Eh..?

Try this: https://www.box.com/s/itmg51oltnzpmvueqiie

Install in Quartz Composer Patches, look for "Object Kit: Render: Kineme3D Object". It will have a full polygon mode selection.

Caveat - consider this a fairly well vetted alpha grade plugin; I haven't tested it with the last one (or two?) kineme3D plugin updates. So, if anything has changed internally (or maybe some ML changes in general that I haven't noticed yet) it may have broken some functions in this plugin.

It requires a valid version of k3D be installed.
