This composition shows one way to save and restore a few numeric input values for a Cube Renderer Patch.

It has published boolean inputs in lieu of command buttons and you can toggle them either way to trigger a pulse to execute that command.

It has primitive error handling on the file loading, just checking for all 6 inputs as non-zero values. You can check the error handling by 1. opening the text file ("my_crazy_cube_settings.txt" gets saved in same folder as composition) 2. deleting some values and save 3. attempting to reload the file by toggling the Restore File input.

Hope you have the AGBook-Stencil font or the screen text will no doubt default to something ugly ;-)

N.B. If you want to use my settings file (you can easily write you own by triggering a Write File event) download it here

here is a patch you can use for stereo lithography or 3d printing. what this does is take a mesh and export it to CAD format for 3d printing. feel free to use it for any other purposes. you can open the file in mesh lab and export to obj or what ever.

some other interesting uses are to plugin your kinect and print to a repRap printer. http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page . included is a test export patch and a kinect structured light, depth to world extrusion map example. i made this so i can output 3d scans. have not printed with it yet.

make sure to pay attention to the right - hand - rule if your procedurally generating your vertices, normals, and indices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-hand_rule the stereo lithography format requires the right hand rule where other programs like unity require meshes to be left hand ruled.

this is a simple parallel painting patch. it is sort of like the mouse ribbon example but uses open cl to queue in parellel.

normally a js or iteration queue can handle maybe 100 indexes smoothly maybe even up to 1000+ on a decent machine without completely blowing up. using open cl to queue makes it possible to queue up millions of indexes without taking a performance hit at all.

what does this mean ? you can draw a really freaking long line.

this is an example of using what i call parallel painting in 3d textured ink...

OpenCL Combined: Optical Flow, Fluid Simulation & Particle System

I wanted to have a similar flow functionality as Memo's ofxMSAFluid: http://memo.tv/ofxmsafluid.

Looking around a found almost all the functionality on or via kineme.net:

So it made sense to return the result.

Here it is! With a little run through in the attached video.

Note: I created this video using a geforce 480 (with 480 cores). The optical flow and fluid simulation have a resolution of 512x512 and there are 1.280.000 particles. (some visible, some not)

I'd appreciate feedback on optimal settings for your systems. (the attached patch has a resolution of 128 with 128.000 particles)

cheers!

This composition illustrates how to mask a piece of media behind the black values of a picture, leaving the deeper layer to shine through the white values of the mask.

Hopefully the pictures will stay with the file.
