Request: Explosion

Hi,

I've been trying to achieve the exploding (text or other) effect as is discussed in the electromusic presentation video on the tutorial page but am unable to get anywhere close. Can anyone point a novice in the right direction

many thanks

Re: Request: Explosion

Step 1: buy particlemetrix (the text explosion effect was a for-profit, private plugin used in particlemetrix. We wrote it, but cannot publish it publicly).

Step 2: experiment with the new patch.

In the interest of full disclosure: we do not make any profit off of PM sales.

Re: Request: Explosion

Related to the Kineme3D Object Explosions.... is anyone familiar with the Pixelshox "liquify" and "explosion" effects?

I'm gathering from what I've seen of various explosion fx and 3D objects, there is a common thread in the look that can be expected... but I'm curious what a 3D "liquify" effect looks like. Something that looked like a floppy melting object would be interesting (thinking Dali clocks here...).

I'm excited about an Object Explosions, as I can't really figure out a good way to do that with deformers; Kineme3D, OpenCL, GLSL, whatever. I love the look when the polygons of an object explode out, it's just wild!

Re: Request: Explosion

does particles metrix also comes as a QC patch ? Their website does not mention it....

Re: Request: Explosion

it's powered by a QC patch (FxFactory plugins secretly use QC compositions to perform their effects). Just installing the demo should give you the QC plugin.

Great, thanks for the info etc - Looking forward to the release of the forthcoming Kineme3D Object Explosions release.
