Best Video Playback Codec

scalf's picture

I have been using Quartz extensively for playing back loops, adding effects, etc, and I was wondering what the fastest video coedc would be for playback in Quartz Composer?

The clips are usually played at 720, but that may be irrelevant. I have been using video programs, so converting them to any codec is not the problem, but there are so many options I was not sure which would be the most tailored to QC - H.264, ProRes, etc

End Position for Audio File Player

I have been using your audio patches recently and find them to be the best for QC I have found since yet.

However I would like to ask of one feature in particular, specifically of the Audio File Player Patch. I am trying to set queue points for tracks and the "starting position" input works great. I would like to ask for a customizable "end point" that would end the track, or loop it from that point.

Thanks

Interpolation Patch

apple pi's picture

Hi, I'm building a set of tags that react to a set of AR markers, so when a particular marker is shown, it's tag rolls out. I'm using the interpolation patch to make a smooth animation for the roll out, but it loops forever (if I choose "none" in the input parameters it does nothing), as long as the marker is shown. I'd like a solution that would execute the interpolation just once. Anyone?

Thanks in advance

structure with counter

Swiftlikeninja's picture

Okay, I'm going to try to explain this as best as possible.

I have a structure list set up and a counter in place to step forward/backwards amongst the structure, I have the composition set up to go back to the beginning of the structure list once the increase signal is sent and the count reaches above the structure count. My question is this, how can I get the count to go to the end of the structure if decrease signal is sent to the the count and the count is at 0?

This is a twisted twist on the BuildingLoop composition I last uploaded.

This uses Kineme3D (the most recent beta) and Texture Tools... it should work on Leopard or Snow (save for if one was to enable the new shadow effect in the Lighting, which doesn't work with iterated objects... bug filed with Apple on that already).

It takes the city scene, and uses the Kineme3D to generate a Height Field that can then be warped.
