Blob Tracking Plugin (Carasuelo OpenCV 0.02a) (Composition by benoitlahoz)

Hi,

A new plugin in the Carasuelo OpenCV bundle : Blob Tracking. I implemented the cvblob library and externalized a lot of parameters to prepare the image, and to set the tracking accuracy. It's supposed to work with 10.6 and 10.7 in 32/64.

It outputs a structure of blobs with coordinates, angle, and tracking datas (has been active for x frames, has been inactive for x frames, exists since...).

An image output is available, with the possibility to output the intermediate image. It runs quite fast on my MBP 13" even when the frame isn't resized (640x480).

The 3 example comps (Blob Tracking, Contours and Presence) are documented. I have to work again on these 2 plugins to make them fit a CVImage class I wrote to simplify OpenCV use.

There's a big issue on the image dimensions, as I have a trouble with "special" width on input images, but in most case it should be ok for everyone. I'm working on it, but if someone has an idea...

Please tell me if it works for you !

I would be glad to see what you do with it.

OSC Web Dance 3 by PrackVJ aka Marcos Prack www.iprack.com

With this comp you can control a differents meshes. You can rotate, change colors, and make some funny things. You need an IPod Touch, or an IPad running TouchOSC app, and some more things.

You need to download the zip file, they have the .dae files, a readme file and the TouchOSC files.

You need to install some patches from Kineme: the Kineme Audio Tools and the Kineme GL Tools. Additionally you need to install the Hexler's qcOSC plugin, you can found it at

http://hexler.net/software/qcosc

This is an excersise I made for my vjing session, you can use it, and modify it as you want. You can change the .dae files if you like too.

If you have any question you can write me to:

mprack at gmail dot com

I'm not an expert, so, the composition could be better, if you can improve it, please, send me your file, I like to learn from you. Thanks a lot, and thanks to the QC community.

This composition is based around a shader that creates many spheres, with lighting, using only the fragment shader. It's based on functions found at: http://www.iquilezles.org/www/articles/distfunctions/distfunctions.htm

...and also heavily informed by many of the examples at glsl sandbox, and probably tons of other related demoscene type shaders I've seen.

I wanted to take a distance function, create a shape with that function, and then create a grid in x/y/z with it, ala many traditional graphics examples. So, this shows how to create an object in the fragment shader, repeat it many times, and light it in a basic way.

Release: VideoTools, v2.2

Release Type: Production
Version: 2.2
Release Notes

Changes since VideoTools 2.1

  • Fixed bug that caused Video Input patch to stop updating its outputs.
  • Fixed crash when Video Input Features Structure input is fed a structure containing strings (e.g. from XML Parser).
  • Added sample composition to demonstrate Video Input Features Structure input.

Known issues

  • H.264 videos stutter when played backwards.
  • VideoTools patches provide only video input, not audio input.
  • Firewire cameras only support certain combinations of Color Coding, Resolution, and Framerate. Watch the Error output and Console log when troubleshooting.
  • Due to issues with the underlying frameworks, video device info cannot be queried once a video device is in use. Therefore Video Device Info is only updated once: when the composition is first started.
