text to image?

amyK's picture

I'm trying to work with text as image, so that I can apply a kaleidescope, textures, etc to text. Is there a patch that will help with this? I've tried the "image with string" patch but it doesn't work.

Thanks for any ideas on this!

How to use Accumulator Replacing Rectangle

pyramus's picture

Could someone please explain me how to use the "Replacing Rectangle [Origin/Height/Width]" properties of the Accumulator?

A while ago I posted this very specific question which nobody replied to, so I thought it would be best to ask this basic question first.

Hope someone can help me understand the workings of this patch!

Efficient way to Black and White

I have been using the stock Black and White patch to render any photo/video in BNW, however, this seems to be very costly to the CPU when used in a live video sense. Iw as wondering if there were any more effective ways to render a image source Black and White?

When I switch to BNW now I lose easily 50% of the frame rate and I know there must be a better way to do this. Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Video Scratching

I am looking for a good way to "scratch video" in QC. By scratch, I mean analogous to Dj scratching in that one can alter the speed, position, and direction of a video on the fly using some fader, rotary, or other controller.

I have looked around, and it seems as though dust made it pretty good with his approach but I found no file to dive into. http://kineme.net/forum/Programming/bestapproachtovideoscratchplugin

The internet hints at using some sort of queue system to drive the video's position from what I have gathered.

Of course, if I hook up the mouse input to the rate, or selection start, the video becomes choppy. I know there is a good way to do this.

If someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated
